Jay Rainer joined EIV Resources in 2026 and currently serves as Vice President of Engineering for EIV Resources. He is responsible for technical underwriting and investment evaluation across upstream oil and gas opportunities.

Prior to joining EIV, Jay served as a Senior Vice President in Energy Investment Banking at Jefferies, where he supported technical evaluation efforts across acquisition and divestiture transactions throughout North America’s major unconventional basins.

Before joining Jefferies, Jay held reservoir engineering and business development roles at Whiting Petroleum.

Jay earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
